Recap of 2009:

  • Due to medical issues and the economy, we dropped all of our technicians into “Commission Only” status
  • In Feb. the grandmother of the company founder (AJ) passed away
  • July 2nd 2009: JJ, the Vice President of the company passed away from medical complications. We closed for 2 weeks in his honor
  • With control reverting solely back to the founder (AJ), who is still dealing with his own medical issues (diagnosed with Cancer in Feb. 2007), things have obviously slowed down. Due to the way Disability works, we are unsure of how things will continue
  • Dec. 2009: Worked with a few companies and charity on how the company can continue to operate and reached agreements

There were a bunch of random events throughout the year as well.

Dedication to JJ:
Thursday, July 2nd, 2009 our company suffered a terrible loss. It brings sadness to my heart to inform our customers and friends that JJ (our Vice President) passed away from medical complications. I’ve never been good with dedications or putting these types of feelings into words, so I’ll leave this simple.
JJ, born Joshua (Yehoshua) Jaeden in November 1980, lead an interesting life. We knew each other for most of our lives and he was like a brother to me. JJ is survived by his older sister Nava (Hebrew for ‘beautiful’), his mother Adina (Hebrew for ‘gentle’) and his 2 year old son Joseph (Yosef). He spent his final days surrounded by friends and family and although his medical issues ultimately ended his life prematurely, he would want those that care to know he didn’t suffer.

New Year’s was harder this year with the loss of our VP, friends, family, etc. but yesterday we had a small ‘get together’ for the employees that seemed to bring us closer together.

Finished upgrading the domains to a new server cluster to fix all the recent speed and timeout issues. Thanks to the hosting company for all their work and patience.

With the downtime, it was decided that some of the sites would have some changes, which not all are complete yet. Information below:

  • The Student Wiki was taken offline to have the backend software changed to hopefully create a more stable, easier to customize site for the benefit of it’s readers. (You can read more information there, as well as a link to the new Beta version)
  • The Beta Site is being redone in full Flash. (Will change to the link once it’s complete.
  • At least three other sites have been upgraded/changed for better functionality
  • Some new surprises are in the works and will be posted after they get closer to completion

- 2010.02.26

The Student Wiki and all other sites were brought back online with no issues.

- 2010.03.20

- 2010.03.29

Normal operations resume after week long break.

- 2010.04.02

With the antics of “April Fools” day over and things back to normal, we’ve started a new promotion and running special sales throughout this month. Contact us for details.

After a small talk between the technicians we’ve decided that we will close July 2nd and reopen on July 5th every year so that we can spend the time to remember our former Vice President JJ before celebrating Independence Day on the 4th.

- 2010.07.05

We had an ‘office’ party on the 3rd where everyone from the company came together with JJ’s friends and family. Some of the highlights included both Jen and I (AJ) singing for the crowd (Jen in English, I in Hebrew) and the now 3 year old Yosef running up to me and calling me “Uncle” as he gave me a hug.

A few members of the staff participated in this year’s “Relay for Life” held on the 16th-17th, including AJ (a cancer survivor, currently in remission). With the good results from this year’s Relay we will try to become more active in the future.
